Women Build Update  

Women possess all that is needed to effect dramatic change in their communities. Through Women Build, we train and equip women to work more effectively, helping Habitat increase its capacity and serve more families. Come join us!

 We will do our best to supply, what we hope to be a constantly revised listing of events, locations, dates and times.  On Site Work Days and our Special Events are all included and of course, always feel free to call or email with any questions.   For weather delays or cancellations, see Women Build Sign-Up sheet.

On Site Work Days    
 
Come out and continue to learn skills.  We will now be working on site at Shuey Knolls, located 6 miles east on Highway 64 from I-26.  Turn right onto property (across from the Edneyville General Store). We will be working on Floor Systems, (floor joists, rim board and sub floor sheeting).  These will start at 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.  Bring your own lunch.  Click for directions to Shuey Knolls

OTHER EVENTS:
Funds are  being raised and there are businesses  willing to donate extra percentages toward Women Build. Currently there is an account with Two Chicks Consignment (on Church St., Hendersonville) whereby if you take clothing in and designate it for the Women Build, they will donate an extra 10% for our project (in addition to the standard 40%). Donations of fine furnishings and jewelry are being accepted for a benefit auction in the works!

We were In the News!

Blue Ridge Now - Habitat for Humanity

Women Build, a special project of Habitat for Humanity International, celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday, Feb. 20 (2008), at the Henderson County Habitat for Humanity neighborhood in Shuey Knolls near Edneyville. A construction crew composed of women volunteers will begin the actual construction of the home at the end of the month. Read More
